A Refuge From the Storm: Holy Scriptures to Elevate & Prevail

Isaiah 25: 1, 4, O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

A Reflection of the Hope

Annette K. Mazzone’s Lily Among Thorns is a Christian end-times story, reflecting God’s teachings on love and hope in perilous times as it is written in Luke 21:28, And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for redemption draweth nigh.

New Heavens & New Earth

Some may perceive the world ending, but in actuality it is just the beginning as it is written in 2nd Peter 3:13, Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, where in dwelleth righteousness.

Life sometimes can be unexpected, by facing challenges, and setbacks. The Lord says all will experience tribulation in the world as it is written in John 16:33, These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Holy Scriptures to ELEVATE & PREVAIL

The Bible is the faithful’s greatest mainstay midst life’s trials and tribulations. Throughout the Holy Scriptures, one finds within its pages encouragement and the fortitude to carry-on in-spite of the challenges amid the STORM.

Psalms 107: 28-29, Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. He maketh the storm calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

Romans 5:3-5, And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

The apostle James, expresses when someone is faced numerous trials and tribulations, to remind us it is vital to look to the Holy Scriptures to persevere.

James 1:2, 3, My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

2nd Timothy 3:16, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

The Lord provides opportunities to strengthen our faith through the illumination of the Holy Scriptures when obstacles and trials should come are way.

Hebrews 10:36, For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

2nd Corinthians 13:9, For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.

It is always good to remind oneself God is in control and all things work for our good.

Romans 8:28, And we know all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

God is faithful, and the LORD keeps HIS promises.

Hebrews 10:36, For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Galatians 6:9, And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.

This verse articulates the point to have fellowship with the faithful.

Acts 2:42, And they continued stedfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, and the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

The crown of life a testament to the one who is faithful and overcomes the world through the victory in Christ Jesus.

James 1:2, Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

1st Peter 5:4, And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

Times of trouble

The ‘Living Word’ the Bible accompany the individual midst the STORM, and thereby encouraging the faithful in times of trouble:

    • God’s promises: 2nd Peter 1:4, Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

    • Seek out the Holy Scriptures: Psalms 69: 32, The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.

    • Thankfulness: Colossians 3:15, And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

    • Take things one day at a time. Matthew 6:34, Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

    • Steadily commune with God: 1st Chronicles 16:10, Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.

The reading of the Holy Scriptures reinforces the believers of God’s faithfulness and therefore is the most essential component to persevere as it is written in Psalms 119: 90, Thy faithfulness is to all generations: thou hast established the earth, and abideth.

Romans 10:17, So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Our faith is our anchor and the Holy Scriptures as our ‘Guiding Light’ to endure regardless of the Stormy Seas of Life
