My Beloved

Lily Among Thorns Song of Solomon 2:2 In the Last Days

2nd Peter 3:3

Memories, Chapter 1, Page 15

My darling Jared would always come to mind each and every time I’d reach for my King James Bible, because he had gifted it to me with such heart in hand. It only managed to endear me to him all the more and left me ever so grateful for his thoughtful and kind ways. I then delved into the Word with a heart full of Jared’s most precious gift to me-his love.

I let the Bible be my guide, and it fell open to as it is written in 2nd Peter 1:17-21: For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Chapter 1, Page 18

Letting my heart lead the way and going against the political storm of the age. I knew I could never turn my back on such a decent man as Caleb, and there being a distinct possibility this could be the very last chance for me to ever see him again. My feelings for Caleb were a lot stronger than my fears telling me not to go.

 Author’s Commentary

The unexpected happens always when we least expect it, and that is why I suppose it is called the unexpected. This was Lily on one rainy night. When her only resolve included a cup of hot chocolate and to cozy up on the sofa in the sweet anticipation of a good Bible study.

But on this same night what should have remained in the recent past shows up on her doorstep to meet her in the present to express loves devotions. Lily finds herself in a quandary  as to the course of action she should take!

The question arises in her heart. Should she remain loyal to a promise once broken, but now made once again by a Wonderful Man with sincerity of heart in hand, and comes to trust Lily’s sincere reverence for her beliefs. He finds to his own delight it reawakens the fond affections for the Lord he once held dear as a dear child.

Or should Lily let her heart lead the way into the loving arms of a Truly Good Man. Who declared his love for her with the complete devotion he has for his faith in the Lord, and never once did he ever waver his true affections on both counts.

Two distinct wondrous possibilities lie in her wake, where for a long time there was none. She therefore dares not to deem one over the other in good standing. These thoughts bring Lily to ponder the memories from her past, hoping it will enable her to help resolve the dilemma at present.
