Crossroads of Life

Lily Among Thorns Song of Solomon 2:2 In the Last Days 2nd Peter 3:3

Memories, Chapter 1, Page 20

The sorry State of our Union began to occupy my thoughts, and with the streetlamps becoming more far and few in between on this lonesome country road, I began to reminisce from the times past, with the feeling as though no time had passed at all.

Author’s Commentary

The character Lily is at the proverbial crossroad of life, and contemplating her past love. Lily is considering her love at the present time. All the while she is driving toward an uncertain future.

With one thought leading to the next. Lily begins to sort out the details of her own life story, and how it seems sometimes life can get ever so complicated, and to add to the complexities, are those malevolent forces in high places of authority hard at work planing and scheming behind the scenes to do harm to God’s benevolent Creation as it is written in  Micah 2:1, Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

Contemplating along the way on this lonesome road Lily is resolved to the fact she only knows but one “Way” to the fulfillment of the desires of her heart, and that is as it is written in John 14:6, Jesus saith unto him I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Which leads Lily always back to the same conclusion, and for Lily the meaning of life holds dear to her simplistic faith in God. And for some looking from the outside in, the beginnings of her amiable life story may seem like she has been walking on a soft bed of peddle roses. But  perhaps this is because Lily is protective of her fragile wounded emotions, and prefers to only offer them up in prayer to God her Father, of whom she had come to learn since childhood she can trust the Lord implicitly as it is written in Ruth 2:12, The LORD recompense thy work, and full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.

Holy Scriptures, The Future

As It Is Written In

1st Peter 2:4-9, To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious. Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, and  holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Christ Jesus. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.
