The world in Lily Among Thorns is the abhorrent rapid rise of the “Antichrist Beast Cabal.” Subsequently the Bible believing Christian such as Lily, her belief in the Bible makes her a criminal to mankind. Lily taken from her family in the middle of the night by the brutal authorities. She is thrown into a prison system designed to break her spirit, where the bones of the Christian martyr steadfastness in faith before her serves as a sacred keepsake of the cost of perseverance.

Lily endures the spiritual and emotional upheaval of the “Last Days” by trusting in the Biblical Promises which are etched for prosperity as it is written in 2nd Timothy 3:16, All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
Perseverance Through Suffering
Lily’s resolve through the occurrence of daily suffering. Grows in faith, in spite of back-breaking work, debased cruelty from the deranged guards, amidst the emotional stress of loneliness of imprisonment.
There are plenty of horrific obstacles in Lily’s narrow path, but also an abundance of grace sustains her. The heavy burdens the Apostate government inflicts onto Christians to crush their resolution. Yet, Lily remains Faithful in the strength of the Lord, and is comforted by the promises of the Bible!
Lily’s story is to trust in the Promises of God even against overwhelming odds.

persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my
sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward in
heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
The character of Lily is the archetype of a long-suffering individual, where her suffering is not a single event, but a long, drawn-out ordeal that lasted even longer than she ever anticipated.
Weeks turn into months during her incarceration, she endures the heartbreak and separation of her One True Love Caleb, and the loss of her beloved family, not knowing if she would ever see them again. She also bears the constant threat of violence from the corrupt guards and becomes the target of the most vile attentions.
Through it all, Lily learns the importance of prayer, and to trust that God has a plan even in the endless persecution.
Lily displays resilience and fortitude constructed on a solid foundation of faith in Jesus Christ, and exclaims through her hardship, “You, my Lord, are my heart’s desire.”
