With the drive seemingly lasting a lifetime and a half, I was beginning to feel both emotional and physically spent, and to my benefit, a feeling of numbness began to sink in. Surprisingly, I found myself grateful for this newfound sensation, because with it brought a relief from the pains and horrors of this night.

These thoughts and observations, which came to me for the moment, were only really a temporary diversion to the realities of the bigger picture.

The most unsettling of all would have to be the rigid and uncompromising fear of the unknown. My trepidation toward the uncertain future was soon intensified when the truck began to slow down and came to a sudden screeching halt.

The horrific chaotic events of the night over shadowed Lily in bewilderment. This obviously left her pondering how she had gotten into this ridiculous predicament in the first place, and was now left to the goofy pawns of that ‘Aged Old Enemy,’ ‘That Old Serpent’ as it is written in Revelation 20:2, And he laid hold on the dragon that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.

No more could she come and go as she pleased. A thought so incomprehensible to Lily, it left her in dire straits. The question arises quite often in her mind as to how this could be happening to her, which is answered in Scripture as it is written in 1st Timothy 1:9, 10, Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for the sinners, for the unholy and the profane, for murderers of fathers of mothers, for manslayers, for whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine.

But no matter how many a time she may have replayed the horrific free-for-all that landed her right smack dab in the center of the enemy’s evil lair. She was now stuck but good in an dystopian nightmarish world once historical commonplace in the barbaric ancient pagan world. The Bible so vehemently opposed within the pages of the Holy Scriptures as it is written in Ezekiel 16:21, 23, That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them? 23, And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the LORD GOD!)

Lily desperately looks to the ‘Blessed Hope,’ the Lord’s Jesus’s soon appearing in the clouds as it is written in Mark 13: 26, And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

Which to Lily’s way of thinking. The Lord’s second coming cannot come soon enough to bring all this hoodoo to a screeching halt! But in the meantime, Lily was living in a constant state of panic not knowing what perils could be lurking from day to lay as it is written in 2nd Timothy 3:1, This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

This was a calamitous predicament for Lily indeed, thrust into a perpetual spiritual realm of darkness fueled by the grief of its innocent victims. The only light Lily now processes is the spiritual light within, and looking to the promises of God for a bright future as it is written in Isaiah 2:2, And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
