I was happy I was there to lend a supportive ear, but when Judy suddenly decided to change the topic, it became a challenge to keep my already fragile emotions together.
“But for now I’ve got my hole family coming over for the Thanksgiving Holiday, because it’s my turn to entertain, and since it’s the first time my entire family will be gathered together to the see the house. I thought it would be nice for them to see the house at its best.

Missing my family something awful, I was a bit reflective in my thoughtful reply.
“I’m sure your family won’t mind. No matter what state of repair your house is in, and everyone will just be happy they’re able to share the holiday together, because I’d give anything to see my family for the Thanksgiving Holiday.”
Genesis 1:12, And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

…..”So what will you and Jared be doing for the Thanksgiving Holiday?”
“We’re planning on spending the day at his place. No big festivities, mind you. Just Jared and I spending the holiday together and sharing a turkey.”
….. “I’ve got the greatest idea! Why don’t you and Jared come over to my house for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
….”I wouldn’t think of imposing in on you and your family’s Thanksgiving.”
“Are you kidding me. I always say the more the merrier, and I have been dying for you to see my house anyway.
“I’d have to clear it with Jared first, before I can give you a definite answer.”
“I completely understand you wanting to ask Jared before giving me a definite answer, but I don’t see any problems there.”
Genesis 1:27, So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female male created He them.

“Wait a minute Jared, because I have something I want to tell you. Judy invited us to her house for Thanksgiving…..”
There was a pause of silence before Jared answered, and I knew this could not be a good sign. And when he did finally make his reply, the signs of fatigue were really coming out over loud and clear in his whiny voice. “I was looking forward to just us spending the holiday day together, and it was supposed to be just you and me and the turkey. Remember?…….Listen, if it makes you happy. Far be it from me to spoil your plans and upset your universe.”
…..”I really do appreciate that Jared, and I know how much you were looking forward to an evening alone with just us. But I just thought it might be fun for a change to get out and mix and mingle.”
Psalms 119:105, (NUN). Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Over the river & Through the Wood, A Thanksgiving Poem written by Lydia Maria Child, in The Year of Our Lord 1844
Over the river, and through the word, To Grandmother’s house we go; the horse knows the way to carry the sleigh through the white and drifted snow.
Over the river, and through the wood, to Grandmother’s house away! We would not stop for doll or top, for ’tis Thanksgiving Day.
Over the river, and through the wood-oh, how the wind does blow! It stings the toes and bites the nose as over the ground we go.
Over the river, and through the wood-and straight through the barnyard gain, We seem to go extremely slow, it is so hard to wait!
Over the river, and through the wood-When Grandmother saw us come, She will say, “O, dear, the children are here, bring a pie for everyone.”
Over the river, and through the wood-now Grandmother’s cap I spy! Hurrah for the fun! Is the pudding done? Hurrah for the pumpkin pie!
Jeremiah 20:13, Sing unto the LORD, Praise ye the LORD: for he hath delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of the evildoers.
